Quick Trip Idea
Beautiful Catalina Island is only 90 minutes away via the Catalina-Marina Del Rey Flyer which departs daily from Marina Del Rey's Fisherman's Village. It's an easy, very enjoyable trip to Avalon Harbor.
Watching & Resting
This incredible close-up of a great blue heron was taken by my daughter, Jennifer, at nearby Sepulveda Wildlife Refuge. An impressive array of wild ducks, geese, egrets, herons and white pelicans can be found there during the winter months. Herons and egrets also frequent Marina Del Rey's Fisherman's Village and nearby Playa Vista Wetlands.
After the Rain
After a week of seemingly endless rain, the skies cleared on a beautiful Saturday morning. Local residents headed outdoors. Here, early morning riders cruise along the Marina Del Rey bikepath, with the snow-covered San Bernardino Mountains visible 80 miles away.
Welcome!
Welcome to Marina Del Rey Sights!
This blog is dedicated to sharing the beauty of Marina Del Rey, California -- along with that of nearby coastal areas such as Santa Monica, Venice, Malibu, Manhattan and Redondo Beaches.
Enjoy!
